Well, our application has been submitted! When it’s been officially registered by Rother DC we’ll include a link to their website, so that you can see it for yourself. In the meantime, there’s lots in the news about the number of local pubs that are failing – 52 a week, apparently! We’re sure it’s a matter of getting the ‘mix’ right …. good food, good beer and good facilities (including some high quality accommodation) and of course good service. All key ingredients for the future of The Bell!

We came to the open events and, whilst we had long conversations about parking, lodges, etc., neither of us can remember anyone mentioning anything about two houses being built on the site. Somewhere. Strange. We are now looking at the planning application drawings to find out more.
ReplyDeleteThe two houses proposed for the site are clearly indicated on all the display materials used at the open days. And as far as I am aware all of us in the project team talked about them in the context of the overall plans for The Bell. There was certainly no attempt to deny their existence! We need to include them to raise the overall value of the project for funding purposes.
ReplyDeleteI moved to Ticehurst sometime ago and was intrigued to find out about the developments at the pub.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I could not make it to your open day, however I am interested in the progress of The Bell. I note that nothing appears to have happened recently.
When do you expect to have approval from the council office?
Kind regards
Jessie
I came to one of the open days and clearly remember the two houses being part of the plans and these came up in discussion as well.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the application.
